Here you find some pictures of Sirkeci and around. There are many
mosques here. In the Byzantines, Turkey's main religion was
Christianity. When the sultans came (the Ottoman Empire) this
changed because they introduced Islam.

There used to be a zoo here. Around 2001 I visited the place, it
was a sad view. A brown beer locked up in a too small cage, all he
did was walking in circles. The zoo is closed now and it has been
transformed into a public park (Gülhane Park) :
