Hi, my name is Jaana. My name is taken from a druid character in the popular Ultima game. I'm a birthday gift from Fibergeek's cousin!
Together with my children, we are Fibergeek's female masters, he's our male slave. We run around in the garden, take care of the grass and in exchange (actually because we tell him to!) he gives us nice food. While our slave abandons us during his trips to Turkey, his sweet little sister takes care of us. And sometimes her fast-growing child teases us, but that little rat actually also ensures that we are in good condition.
We're Guinea Pigs but sometimes we're also referred to as Cavies which is the plural of Cavy. Our Turkish names are Hint Domuzu (Indian Pig) or Kobay (Subject as in Laboratory Animal) and in Dutch we're called Cavia. And for the record, our Latin name is Cavia porcellus.
